Finance Manager

Cambridgeshire | Hybrid Working (3 days in office)
£65,000 – £75,000 + benefits

I’m currently partnering with a growing owner-managed SME within the engineering and technology sector, looking to appoint a Finance Manager to take a leading role within the finance function.

The business has developed an excellent reputation in its field and works with a range of commercial and specialist clients across the UK and Europe. As the company continues to grow, they are looking for someone who can take ownership of the day-to-day finance function while also supporting the senior leadership team with commercial insight.

This role would suit a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), although the business would also consider a highly experienced QBE candidate who has operated in a similar SME environment.

The position is based in the east of Cambridgeshire and operates a hybrid working model, with three days per week in the office.

The role

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparation and ownership of monthly management accounts

• Producing financial reporting and analysis for the leadership team

• Cashflow forecasting and working capital management

• Overseeing day-to-day finance operations including AP, AR and payroll oversight

• Managing the year-end process and liaising with external accountants and auditors

• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes

• Driving process improvements across finance systems and reporting

About you

The ideal candidate will:

• Be ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified, or an experienced QBE

• Have previous experience working in an SME or owner-managed business

• Be comfortable operating in a hands-on finance role

• Have strong management accounting and commercial finance experience

• Be confident communicating with senior leadership and non-finance stakeholders
